STEM Night at Normandale Hills
Hello parents/guardians of Normandale Hills Elementary,
Did you know that there could be as many as 2.4 million unfilled science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) jobs by 2018? Do you want to help students and families discover a love of science?
We are looking for participants AND volunteers to help us during NH PTA’s STEM Night, at 6pm on November 13, 2018 in the elementary school cafeteria (K-2) and lunch room (3-5). Science Festivals are fun, family-friendly events that spark passion for STEM through activities and experiments for BOTH students and their families!
If you are interested in volunteering and you’re concerned about the experiment part—don’t worry! We will provide plenty of support for you to run a station including step by step instructions, all we require is enthusiasm and a love for science! If you can help, please contact Beth Clubbs, PTA Fundraising and Events/STEM Chair at firstname.lastname@example.org, or return this sheet in your child’s brown envelope with your name and contact information listed below.
Research shows that family engagement leads to greater student success. Students who understand and enjoy science earn higher grades, attend school regularly, have better social skills and go on to college.
IMPORTANT: All children MUST have a caregiver with them. STEM Night is meant to engage families together in fun STEM experiences. So, please make every effort to join us and enjoy a night of interactive science experiments with your child.
